Research summary

  • Synthesis and characterization of ceramics, porous and composite materials.
  • Preparation methods of powders/nanopowders: sol-gel, precipitation, low-temperature combustion synthesis, microwave synthesis, CVD.
  • Vibrational Spectroscopy and micro spectroscopy (Raman-IR).
  • Development of iron-containing porous hybrids based on carbon and silica (Fe0 , magnetic oxides, Fe-NPs, &c), for the environmental applications including water purification by removal of pollutants , i.e. heavy metals.
  • Utilization of industrial wastes and biomass for the development of high -added value materials.
  • Porous carbon structures and sulfur-porous carbon composites for high-performance cathodes of lithium-sulfur batteries.
