Synthesis of Inorganic and Organometallic compounds of Platinum Group Metals; Multinuclear and multidimensional NMR ; Bioactive molecular materials; Bioimaging materials.
Research summary
Dr. Garoufis’ research interests include, synthesis and characterization of Inorganic and Organometallic compounds, NMR spectroscopy, polarized light spectroscopic techniques (CD, LD) analytical techniques (MS) etc, in order to study:
(i) the structure and conformation of the synthesized compounds
(ii) the weak interactions with biological macromolecules (e.g. oligo-nucleotides or oligo-peptides)
(iii) the weak interactions between single molecules leading in self nano-agregates.
